Shows and Exhibitions

Modernism Week also features several design showcases, fashion shows, and special exhibitions that will be open to the public throughout the 11-day festival.  Be sure to check them out while you’re in town!

  • PREFAB SHOWCASE  - Hosted on an open parking lot directly behind the Hilton Hotel, the Prefab Showcase highlights the very latest in affordable prefab housing along with solar and green technology and eco friendly trends.  This pop-up prefab village will feature several different prefab companies and their stunning structures.  Check here for previews of who’s coming to the show!

  • MODERN LIVING EXPO - The Modern Living Expo has grown since last year.  The show features the latest materials, technologies and furnishings for the modern home.  A contemporary expression of modernist design.

  • 13th ANNUAL MODERNISM SHOW - The 13th Annual Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale features 80 exhibitors from across the U.S., Canada and Europe presenting decorative and fine arts from all movements of 20th century design including furniture, lighting, sculpture, paintings, jewelry, silver, glass, ceramics, photography, textiles, posters, prints, rugs, and vintage clothing and accessories.

  • VINTAGE CAR SHOW - The front of the Palm Springs Convention Center will be transformed on the last day of the Modernism Show & Sale as over 65 vintage automobiles will be on display for residents and guests of Modernism Week. Enjoy viewing cars from the 1930s through 1987 at this casual afternoon event. Chat with the car owners and share your passion for vintage automobiles with other enthusiasts.

  • VINTAGE TRAILER SHOW - Come tour the interiors of these amazing, one-of-a-kind, restored vintage travel trailers! Trailer owners will be on hand to talk about their trailer’s history, restoration, and travels. This show will also feature a variety of retail booths with a fun mix of gifts, art, products, and services that relate to the Vintage Trailer lifestyle.  Hosted in the Hilton Hotel Parking Lot.

  • WELCOME ABOARD PAN AM EXHIBITION - Don’t miss this very special exhibition from the private collection of actor Phillip Keene. Welcome Aboard – The Pan Am Experience brings back to life the glamor and glitz of traveling Pan Am style.  Globe traversing, standard setting, always stylish, Pan Am was the THE gold standard in travel of the Jet Age.

  • MARRAKESH COUNTRY CLUB DESIGNER SHOWCASE - Come and experience the Coachella Valley’s first DESIGNER SHOWCASE presented by Marrakesh Country Club in Palm Desert. The tour includes four Hollywood Regency homes with distinctive features including Pullman entries, mansard roofs, private courtyards and back terraces. Experience the ultimate marriage of midcentury architecture and modern creativity as some of California’s top interior designers reinterpret these classic homes.

  • FASHION FORWARD: A VINTAGE RETROSPECTIVE - William Miller and Déjà Vu Vintage Finery presents a fully accessorized, highly stylized fashion show featuring the glamorous trends of yesteryear.  The runway will come alive with glimpses into the post-World War II era of Dior’s “New Look.”  Bouffants, batwings, and drama!
